GREEN POWER GO-AHEAD

On Feb. 4, 2010, Marin Energy Authority (MEA) voted unanimously to move ahead to sign a contract with an electricity services provider, in order to begin serving customers in June as California’s first Community Choice power agency. It faces fierce opposition from PG&E, the northern California utility monopoly, which has threatened litigation, threatened to prevent MEA’s power flowing through its wires, sent deceptive mailers, made improper marketing calls, and poured million into a campaign for a statewide ballot measure in the June election. The initiative, Prop 16, would change the CA constitution to require a 2/3 vote for any local government to do what Marin plans to do (in other words make it virtually impossible). The initiative would also require an existing “municipal” utility or irrigation district to hold an election in its jurisdiction and win it by 2/3 (67 out of every 100 voters) every time it wanted to hook up a new customer. Marin Energy Authority is a non-profit, public agency consisting of eight cities and towns, and the County of Marin. MEA’s Board is made up of elected officials from each local government. MEA promises to deliver twice as much renewable energy as PG&E offers — with customer rates at or below PG&E. The state of California required utilities to offer 20% renewables by 2010, but PG&E has only 14% renewables and declared it will not meet the state’s target until 2013. Mike was the first full-fledged hydrogen bomb to be tested. The island where the device was detonated was vaporized. The hole Mike left was big enough to accommodate several pentagon-size buildings and deep enough to hold the Empire State Building. Mike’s yield was an incredible 10.4 megatons, signaling the expansion of the nuclear arsenal from fission to fusion, the same process that occurs in the Sun. The detonation of the Mike device was the climax of an intense debate over what would be the nation’s correct response to the startling news in 1949 that the Soviet Union had detonated a nuclear weapon. Many wanted the US to develop the means to produce and field a large number of fission bombs of varying yields which could be used for tactical purposes. Others believed that the country should institute a crash program like the Manhattan Project to develop a Super weapon based on the idea of forcing together or fusing light atoms with a fissile device to produce enormous amounts of energy. Jeff Rense Defeatist Attitude and Disinformation

Do we as members of the truth community care about anything any more? If the answer is yes, then when are we going to rise up and finally take a stand about certain issues? Jeff Rense is censors my comments and spreads disinformation, hate and racism, you can see newer comments will show up so where did mine go? So much fear mongering, as if there were no solutions to fix the economy. Rense will sure talk about some truth but he fails to connect the truth with saving human lives and fixing the economy.
